Yellow jackets are very aggressive.
First you will have to locate the opening to the nest.
They will sting repeatedly and will put out an attack pheromone that alerts all their friends to come over and sting you too.
When the bees are sleeping squirt the powdered insecticide from the bottle at the entrance and exit points on the siding.
Here is how i was able to get rid of yellow jackets in one day.
Poison dust this was the best option in my mind because it will not kill the yellow jackets instantly but will enable them to return to the nest and share the poison with the others leading to total success for killing the colony.
Make sure to cover all the points using the marks you used as a reminder.
This is a dangerous situation and i would not recommend doing the control by yourself unless.
There are a number of kinds available.
Old rag or towel.
To prevent yellow jackets from flying out of the hole while you treat the nest cover the hole with a piece of window screen then weight the screen with rocks to hold it securely in place.
Avoid antagonizing the wasp.

They are all inside the nest though after dark.
The yellow jackets do not sleep however.

Try to pinpoint the opening.

When the nest is easily visible a foaming aerosol will both cover the openings and expand into the nest to trap and kill the yellow jackets.
Similarly attempting to spray a single yellow jacket with insecticide of any sort is not recommended.
It will kill them and no gas involved.
Also bought plastic traps for 8 bucks apiece and did not trap one yellow jacket.
To keep yellow jackets from returning properly seal any entrances or holes through which the pests could enter the siding.
Rolled up newspapers and flyswatters can kill a yellow jacket but physical combat can open you up to a world of hurt.
Choose an aerosol with a long range jet spray that will allow you to stand back from the nest and still be effective.
Killing the yellow jackets in your siding will temporarily solve your problem.
Striking and failing to kill the wasp will only invite further stings.
Apply dust or insecticide at dusk.
