How high above hip roof should duravent stove pipe be.
Measure the roof pitch.
This specification makes sure steep roof slopes are cleared.
If the pipe is farther than 10 feet from the roof peak.
Hopefully this will be enough.
The termination cap is installed above this point.
For horizontal installations check the appliance manufacturer s instructions for minimum rise and maximum horizontal run.
Distance matters the top of a chimney pipe must extend at least 2 feet above the peak of the roof if the pipe is within 10 feet of the peak.
Building codes require a minimum of 3 above the roof penetration and at least 2 higher than any portion of a building within 10.

Subtract 1 1 2 per joint of dvl stovepipe.
The termination cap is installed above that point.
This will bring the total height of the pipe not including the cap to 85 inches.
The chimney must extend at least 3 feet above the highest point where it passes through the roof and be at least 2 foot higher than any part of the building within a horizontal distance of 10 feet figure 2.
First you ll need to know the pitch of your roof.
Minimum chimney height at sea level of straight vertical chimney is 10 to 15 above the appliance outlet.
Currently the pipe is 6 inches above the roof peak.
If the chimney extends more than 5 above the roofline an extended roof bracket must be installed at every 5 increment of chimney height above the roofline leaving no more than 5 of chimney extending above the last pipe bracket.
Also you ll need the horizontal distance between the peak and the edge of the high side of the pipe see figure 1 where you plan your roof penetration.
The top of the chimney should be at least 3 ft 0 92 m above the roof surface.
To calculate the installed per length of 6 8 duraplus chimney pipe subtract 1 1 2 per joint.

Subtract 1 1 4 per joint of durablack stovepipe.
Measure the roof pitch.
A snorkel termination may be used if height restrictions prevent adequate rise above the appliance.
For gas vents or a type l vent this distance above the roof surface must be at least 2 ft 0 61m.
In the photo below you can see where the braces currently attach 41 inches above the collar.
Select the proper flashing and storm collar.
